Featured Artist – Camille Allen

I stumbled onto Camille Allen’s work by chance. My mom forwarded an email to me called Marzipan Babies. The email had all these amazing picture of these tiny little hand sculpted babies that were beyond beautiful. My brain went into overdrive and I though “No way are those made of Marzipan. It has to be polymer clay”. Of course I had to visit the web site.

On the lead page of Camille’s web site is a disclaimer saying that if I am there because I followed an email called Marzipan Babies that her babies are ” NOT made of Marzipan, icing, chocolate or soap. They are not real premature babies.” Imagine having to put that disclaimer on your web page. LOL What is this world coming to. 🙂

As I suspected she does sculpted them from polymer clay. I love being right.

Fairy Sculptures by Linda Griego

I know we have all seen a lot of amazing fantasy sculptures over the years, but I just had to share this artist with you all. A link to her Ebay bio was shared at the PCC Forum and I hesitated to click on it. Thankfully my curiosity got the better of me. Her name is Linda Griego, her shop is called Tattered Fairies and I am a huge fan now. 🙂

Fantasy Sculptors I Admire

I’ve been reading fantasy books for many years. I love the damsel in distress being rescued, the knight slaying the dragon to save the village, and the wizard casting a powerful spell to defeat the evil king. When I see beautiful sculptures of a fantasy creature or figure it truly gives me joy and fills my head with all these wonderful images I can reflect upon as I read.

If you Google the words “polymer clay fantasy sculpture” you will get thousands of hits. I have narrowed it down to handful of my favorite artists for you viewing pleasure. 🙂

Need A Smile?

I can’t sculpt my way out of a wet paper bag, so when I see something like “Roller Derby Fairy” it makes me appreciate it even more. There is no way you can help but smile when you see this sculpture by Enchanted Whimsies.
