Had a Little Contest on Facebook

I needed help choosing some new texture stamp designs, so I challenged my readers to choose for me. Here are the designs and winners ! A random drawing was done for a free stamp.  The drawing for that free stamp was won by Patricia Roberts-Thompson, who has promised us pictures of what she makes with her stamp. 🙂

Now for my Handmade Gift Giving Ideas.

For business/work acquaintances –  I usually bake goodies.  I make a killer pumpkin bread that uses lots of real butter. Everyone loves it and forgives me for all the extra calories. <G>

For family & friends –  my mom, my sister & I bake huge platters of different cookies, cakes and treats. My new favorite being what I call “Creamcicle” cookies.  I found the recipe for them last year on the internet.

Orange Vanilla Chip Cookies (you can cheat like I did and just put orange flavoring in ready made sugar cookie dough 🙂

  • Cooking Time: 10 to 12
  • Servings: 36
  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 1 cup vanilla chips (or white chocolate chips)

For my immediate family – they get a handmade gift of something I made.  Since I make jewelry and trinkets out of polymer clay it’s a good bet that’s what they will be getting. LOL But they always appreciate the love and effort that went into the Handmade Gifts. 🙂 If you want to buy the perfect handmade gift for your loved ones try searching ArtFire.com . You’ll no doubt find that one of a kind gift for the one of a kind person.

The New & Improved PCC Challenge

Polymer Clay Central has been having their monthly Challenge since 1999. This month marks the 110th Anniversary and the prizes will be extra special !!

A recent poll from the participants at the PCC Forum reveled that people would love to be able to email pictures rather than snail mail their entries. To please the masses, Stephen & Leigh Ross have changed the rules. (You can see the entire list of rules here) We can now send pictures of our contest entries!! This is bound to attract more worldwide entries. I am so excited to see what the future holds for the Challenge.

Please think about entering this contest. It’s so much fun !! I’ve entered a couple times and had a second place winner. Ironically it was the second time in my life that I ever won anything. Couldn’t wipe the grin off my face for days. LOL Each month there is a different theme. Check out the schedule so you can prepare ahead of time.
